Hey everyone: Studio62 offers classes now and I just finished perfecting a leather bag and matching Diva Wallet. If you are interested in learning how to make this bag and wallet then stay tuned – class schedule coming. Want private lessons, I offer those to.
So today I decided I should get the blog back up and running. We’ve been really busy in Studio62 this past year.
Our major events are comprised of the doll sewing. As you know I run BillericaTwirls, a program where people come together to make 18 inch doll clothes and then we raise money to buy the dolls. Dolls all go to Toys for Tots. You can learn more by going to http://www.billericatwirls.com. We are in full swing again this year.
Studio62 is about to launch sewing classes. I am working on a schedule and types of classes. If you are interested you should follow the blog. First class will be in May and we will be making foot stools. I will post details by mid April with a sample photo.
What kind of classes would you like to see? Let me know and we will make it happen. In the meantime enjoy the photo of the Feathered Start Quilt I made from the Hoopsisters pattern.

Studio62 has been busy working on the Billerica Twirls doll charity program. We are busy twice a month working on clothing for 200 dolls. Hi Everyone:
As you can see from the photos Studio 62 is now complete and operational. It is the most perfect sewing studio one could ask for. Very soon we will be offering some classes, sew at your own pace sessions and most importantly will be home to the “Billerica Twirls” Charity foundation.

Hello twirls fans. Today we received this award for all the dolls and clothes we donated this year. This award belongs to all of you.

Well so much has been done in one week. We are in the final stages of construction. This past week the fabric wall cabinets were installed, the cutting table was built, wallpaper in the bathroom hung and other finishing work. Monday and Tuesday the bathroom will be put together, trim and railings added and hopefully the painter will get his stuff done. It is so exciting. Here are a few photos.
Wow floor is in, cabinets are getting there. We are getting close.

Well now you can see that I have names the Sewing Addition – Studio62. It is moving along now…cabinets are in, the floor was put in yesterday, and the painting is almost done.
So much more to go but it looks like final inspections will be by the 24th. So move in date is Christmas day….what fun….

We did it!!!!! Or should I say you did it. We set a goal for ourselves this year of a 150 dolls with a wardrobe of 4 outfits for each. We started back at the beginning of the summer trying to get a head start. We had people donating space for sewing, thank you Joanie and Nashua Sew and Vac. We had people sewing all around the country, as far away as San Francisco; we had donations for the dolls coming all the way from Canada.
Much to my amazement we exceeded our goal. We had outstanding donations to purchase dolls and we had people lining up at retail stores to select a doll and sew some clothes for it. We are donating a 174 dolls to Toys for Tots, each of these dolls is leaving us to go to their new home with: panties, pajamas, a dress, a skirt and blouse, a top and pants, hat, scarf and poncho, shoes and some even have sweaters and robes. We even received blankets for many of them.
I do not know how to thank all of you. It is overwhelming the amount of generosity both in time to sew or knit clothing and in the amount of money you gave to purchase the dolls. Thank you from all of us at Billerica Twirls.
May your holidays be as joyous as the recipients of these wonderful gifts.

Well not much progress. They builders didn’t show up for 5 days. Then they came and back filled the hole added a truck load of crushed rock and smoothed it out. So now we are waiting for them to come and pour the concrete for the floor. In the meantime I finalized the cabinet plan and the electric plan. Tuesday we have to decide on the heating plan. Still on target to finish in December.
